you can do all of those things without being a mod. mods entaila llt of responsibility monitoring flaming, double posting, off topic, and moving topics around intot he right areas. they also have to be fluent in the workings of a forum and have to be able to direct players to links to other topics when they ask questions.

just informing them of a download link is any kind players job.
